- Share program and course materials through the UMSEA network of educators
- Promote peer-reviewed scholarship work through the UMSEA supported Journal of Funeral Service Education
- Widespread exposure of programs via the UMSEA booth at the National Funeral Directors Association International Convention and Expo
- Provide financial support to the ABFSE scholarship fund
- Award the prestigious J.M. Nolte Scholar Accolade
